Why Aren’t Black People Observing Passover?

“For G-D is Able to Graft Them in Again” (Romans 11:23)

The Truth About Black Jews

As I have looked at the television and all of the news articles about people all over the world celebrating Passover, I am reminded of the Scripture in the Holy Bible in Romans 11:11 which states Paul referring to the Jews, “…Have they stumbled that they should fall? G-d forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.”

That message is referring to the ancestors and descendants of the original Jews, also known as the Israelites and the Hebrews, and it describes exactly how I feel, provoked to jealousy as I take notice of all of the people around the world claiming and embracing the Passover story of deliverance from slavery in Egypt as their own, with the noticeable absence of a whole race of people, Black people, who this Passover observance was given to in the first place.

When I read my Bible, it is very clear and evident that the Patriarchs of the Jews, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who is also called Israel, and the twelve Israelite boys who descended from Jacob which formed the Israelites, looked like me, Black people with kinky hair, just as we see Africans, African Americans and other African descent people throughout the world. Their regions and culture attest to who they are. We, Black people throughout the world are their posterity, their descendants.

Yes, Scripture is clear, we stumbled, and we fell. But it is also clear that we would always be
G-D’s covenant people. He gave us special days of commemoration as a covenant sign between Himself and His people. We need not disregard important observances such as the Sabbath Day, the Dietary Law, and Jewish Holy Days.

Our L-rd Jesus, Yeshua also did not disregard these very important observances. Many do not realize that the L-rd’s last supper was a Passover supper. The very eve of His last meal was on the first day of Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Read this in Matthew 26, specifically verses 2, 17-21.

The Holiday of Passover, as well as all Jewish observances, are my observances, our observances, Black people throughout the world. It is time for you to know this. It is time for you to claim this. It is time for Truth!
