You will know a Christian by their Love…(1 John 4:16)
Today many people simply do not know how to respond to Donald Trump’s antics. He provokes anger, enrages us, exasperates us and vexes our spirits. He encompasses everything that is opposite of our Christian spirits including hate, lying, manipulation, drudgery, and intimidation. The Bible instructs us to “Try the spirits,” to see if they are from G-d. (1 John 4:1). Be careful of “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” (Matthew 7:15, Matthew 10:16)
I believe Trump is bent on turning back every single accomplishment that our former decent and outstanding President Barack Obama made, simply because of the color of his skin. It is my discernment that Trump absolutely cannot stand the fact that a Black man had a supreme and powerful position in the world. He would like to strip President Obama of his legacy and his dignity.
So, what should our response be to this outrageous President?
First– We must remember who we are and whose we are. We are the chosen children of a loving G-d and Savior who promises us that He will vindicate His people. Is it okay to hope for the L-rd’s vengeance on our enemies? Yes!! Our father king David prayed unceasingly for G-d to avenge him of his enemies.
“The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.” Psalm 58:10.
“The Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies who hate and persecute you.” Deuteronomy 30:7.
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for G-d’s wrath, for it is written: “’It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord.” Romans 12:19.
Secondly– We must react in faith, keep our own peace and continue to uphold and stand for what is good and right.
Lastly– We must keep our speech holy and not let this man or any of his followers cause us to “lose our religion,” by cursing, swearing, slandering and spuing out hate.
I believe G-d has this man in the position that he is in for specific reasons—And our Test is this—Will we continue to follow, obey and imitate our L-rd and Savior Jesus Christ (Yeshua) or will we fall into contempt and hatred along with Trump and his people?
The book of 2nd Thessalonians speaks about a “falling away” in these latter days. I do not want myself or any of you to be a part of that mass of people who will fall away from the L-rd’s commands in this day. (2 Thessalonians 2:3).
Let us walk in “deveikut” which is Hebrew meaning to cleve to, and stay close to our
L-rd. Amen.
Shalom
